Agile Scaling and Descaling
True agility scales not through more meetings, but by reducing dependencies between teams. We apply concepts such as Team Topologies to minimise cognitive load and accelerate the value stream.
Core Concept
Agile scaling often means agile descaling: simplifying structures to make teams capable of action again. We focus on stream-aligned teams that take end-to-end responsibility for a product or feature.
Application
- Team Topologies: Application of the four team types (stream-aligned, platform, enabling, complicated subsystem).
- Inverse Conway Manoeuvre: Organising teams to mirror the target architecture (e.g. microservices).
- WIP Limits: Restricting the number of topics worked on simultaneously at the organisational level.
